Salaries and housing prices differ from state to state. Just out of curiosity, No Label Business Magazine has made its research by creating a scenario “how long one has to work in order buy a house at his/her state of residence, if the salaries were solely spent on buying a house.” With that said, all other spending like food, utilities, rent, and anything that is usually bought on daily bases are excluded from this scenario. For this research, NLBM combined the average salary and average housing prices data from Bureau of Labor Statistics and Trulia to give you average years needed from a person in order to buy a house. Here’s how each state statistics looked like.
